Privacy notice
What this site
collects, and why.
This notice covers personal information collected through scits.co.za. It does not cover information we process on behalf of clients under a service agreement — that is governed separately by that agreement.
Who is responsible
Scelimpilo IT Solutions is the responsible party for personal information collected through this website. You can reach us at info@scits.co.za or +27 73 206 4732 with any question about this notice or about information we hold.
What we collect
Only what you choose to send us. If you complete the enquiry form, we receive your name, email address, and optionally your phone number and company name, together with the service category you selected and the message you wrote.
If you contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp instead, we hold whatever that conversation contains.
What we do not collect
This site does not use advertising cookies, analytics tracking or third-party marketing pixels. We do not build a profile of your browsing, and we do not sell or share your details with anyone for marketing purposes.
Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers to fetch them. That request is subject to Google's own privacy terms. If you would prefer to avoid it entirely, the fonts can be self-hosted — ask us and we will do it.
Why we hold it
To answer your enquiry, to prepare a quotation or proposal, and to keep a record of what was discussed if the enquiry becomes a piece of work. We do not add enquiry addresses to a mailing list.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for up to twenty-four months and then deleted, which gives us a reasonable window to pick up a conversation you return to. Where an enquiry becomes a client relationship, the information is retained under our normal business and tax record-keeping obligations.
Who else sees it
Our email and business systems are hosted by established service providers, which means your message is stored on their infrastructure. We do not pass your information to any other third party except where we are legally required to.
How it is protected
Access to enquiry correspondence is limited to the people who need it to respond to you. Accounts are protected with multi-factor authentication, and the systems holding this information are covered by the same controls we recommend to clients.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, and ask us to delete it. Email info@scits.co.za and we will action the request and confirm when it is done.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Changes
If this notice changes materially, the date at the top of the page will be updated. This version applies from July 2026.
A note on scope. This notice describes how the website itself handles information. Have it checked by your legal adviser before publishing, and add your registered company name and Information Officer's details once confirmed.
